Shawn Hogan, the head distiller at 10th Mountain, said, "Single Malt Whiskies are the fastest-growing segment of whiskey. What started as a conversation three years ago has now turned into our newest 10th Mountain Whiskey. The American Single Malt is our 7th Spirit in their lineup, including the Bourbon, Rye Whiskey, Vodka, Moonshine, Cordial, and Brandy.
Founder Ryan Thompson said, "We have had a great summer season with the release of our 10th Mountain Brandy at the end of April, the launch of our 10th Mountain Bourbon Aged Maple Syrup in June, and now the release of our 10th Mountain American Single Malt Whiskey. Our Single Malt is complex with notes of chocolate, walnut, and cherry on the nose and an all-spice, caramel, nutty finish.”
Recently we were awarded a Best in Class Gold Medal for their 10th Mountain Rye Whiskey at the 2021 Whiskies of the World competition.
The American Single Malt Tasting Notes:
Aged: 2 years
Mash Bill: 100% Malted Barley
Appearance: Rich, Dark Brown
Nose: Notes of chocolate, walnut, and cherry with a hint of coffee
Palate: Medium body, dark fruit, complex spice with a touch of honey
Finish: Medium-long, dry, All-spice, nutty flavor, and slight caramel
ABV/Proof: 45% / 90 proof
Aged in New, American Oak barrels with #4 char.
